 2.    SCREENING PROCEDURE
Stage 1: Screening-Mandatory Data Capture CITS
Proceed to do data capture in CITS at the screening from 14th to 18th November,2016.(check the university website for details.
Stage 2:Uploading of Documents
Login to the Unilag Students Portal (www.unilag.edu.ng) and fill the Biodata form, print the Screening Form (students are expected to upload the underlisted documents while filling the Biodata form)
v  Birth certificate
v  Letter of reference
v  Testimonial from secondary schools attended
v  Certificate of state of origin
v  JAMB Admission letter (if available)
v  Previous Degree Certificate (DE students)
Stage 3: Submit  four copies of the underlisted documents to the Registration Officer:

1.   Screening Form Generated From Stage 2      
2.   UTME Result Slip      
3.   UNILAG POST-UTME Screening Result Slip
4.   O’ Level Result Certificate (WAEC / NECO) Or Statement of Result with an online version of the Result
5.   Letter of Reference from a Reputable Clergyman/Imam/Lawyer/Senior Civil Servant
6.   Birth Certificate/Sworn Declaration of Age        
7.   Testimonial from Secondary Schools Attended
8.   Certificate of State of Origin      
9. Jamb Admission Letter            
10. Passport Photographs (12 copies)

Stage 4: Generate pay advice and proceed to any bank to make payment and then to the screening venue as scheduled.
Stage 5: Faculty and Departmental Registration
Candidates are requested to visit their Faculties and Departments for registration.

Stage 6: Final Enrollment
Final enrolment is compulsory for all fully registered students. This will commence on Monday 5th December and ends on Wednesday 9th December, 2016. All candidates are expected to submit a copy of the following documents to the Registration Officers as well as Department and Faculty.
Ø  Jamb admission letter ( if not previously submitted during screening)
Ø  Completed and duly signed Students Biodata
Ø  Completed and duly signed Students Information Form (SIF)
Ø  Payment Acknowledgement Receipt
Impersonation is a serious offence and anybody found guilty of this will automatically forfeit his/her admission and may be handed over to security operatives.

Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, FPTB important information for all candidates offered provisional admission for the 2016/2017 academic session.

This is to inform you that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified some issues regarding 2016 JAMB Admission Exercise, notably;

That some of our ND Candidates have been offered admission through sourcing, however, such students have not chosen us either as First or Second Choice.

Some Students have been offered courses different from the one offered to them by the JAMB as contained in their JAMB admission letters.

Consequently, I am directed to convey to you as follows:

All admitted candidates who have not chosen our institution as their first choice institution should be informed to log on to the JAMB Portal and change their first choice Institution by selecting Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi as their new Institution of first choice.

Where any admitted candidates is offered a course by the Polytechnic different from the one offered to him by JAMB, such a student should also effect change of course to correspond with the one offered to him by the Polytechnic.

Direct Entry Applicants
Looking at getting admitted in 2017  via Jamb Direct Entry.

Applicants with one of the following qualifications may be considered for admission by Direct Entry:

A minimum of five (5) subjects passed at not more than two sittings with at least two at the Principal or Advanced level of the G.C.E, and the others, at credit level of the SSCE/GCE, NTC/NBC. No subject shall be counted at both Ordinary and Advanced levels.

Two passes at the IJMB Advanced Level Examination or Cambridge moderated Schools of Basic Studies Terminal Examination or Institute of Baccalaureate from recognised institutions with SSCE/GCE, NTS/NBC credits – equivalent in three other subjects (Subject to University Requirements).
Passes in two major subjects in the NCE with SSCE, NTC/NBC credits or equivalents in THREE other subjects (mainly for Education Courses). Education may be accepted as a third A’Level subject for those taking courses in Education.

Candidates are to note they will be required to provide their registration number which they used in gaining admission into their NCE, Diploma etc

UNILAG student graduates with CGPA of 5.00

Mr Ayodele Daniel Dada, from the Department of Psychology, University of Lagos has emerged the best graduating student in the 2014/2015 sessions with a cumulative GPA of 5.00.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rahamon Bello who disclosed this on Wednesday during ‎a pre-convocation press conference held at the institution’s Senate Chamber, described the 5.00 CGPA as a perfect score. He said that this means Ayodele scored As in all courses he took in the programme.
According to him, a total of 10,907 students will graduate with degrees and diplomas ‎during the convocation slated for 1st to 3rd of March, 2016. In the breakdown, he noted that 5472 students will be awarded with first degree certificates, while 5435 will receive postgraduate degrees.
 He said: “Out of the first degree graduating students, a total of


 178 passed in the first class division, while 1,617 passed in the second class upper division. “Also, 2,496 are in second class lower degree, 884 in third class, 274 in unclassified degrees in Medical Sciences and Pharmacy, just as 50 students had pass degree. Besides , the University will graduate a total of 71 students with the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in various disciplines.” According to the Vice Chancellor, Faculty of Engineering tops with the highest number of first class degrees, having 41 first class graduating students.

UI Throws Out 97 Students for Poor Academic Performance

The authority of the University of Ibadan has expelled 97 students for their failure to  obtain the minimum academic requirements for the 2014/2015 session.
The institution’s registrar, Olujimi Olukoya, said in Ibadan  that the Senate of the University had approved the withdrawal of the affected students.
The expelled students  were from seven faculties and at various levels, including those in the final year of their studies..
The release stated that some of the students had their studentships lapsed while three voluntarily withdrew from the institution.
The institution has also vowed to rank among the Top five in Africa in next few years.

DURATION

The internship period for each student is at least 6 weeks and at most 24 weeks. The KPMG summer Internship Program runs yearly from June through September. However, selection is based on performance and subject to manpower availability
