TASUED LECTURER, DR.EKINE BECOMES INTERNATIONAL 'EXCEPTIONAL MASTER LEADER

The Deputy Director, Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Adefunke Ekine recently became an Exceptional Master Leader. This is in recognition of her Leadership skills in making a difference for children, families and communities across the globe.
The girl-child and early-education advocate while describing her work noted that, as an early childhood teacher-turned trainer and advocate, my passion is to see that every child within the school setting is given the very best opportunity for maximum development, especially regarding teacher-learner interaction since the teacher is the most significant part of the child's learning.
She further noted that in recent past, she had mentored her would-be student teachers and turned them into advocates of the child, especially the girl-child who is most marginalized in Nigeria.
Dr. Ekine has continuously spoken and advocated for equal access to pre-school education as a panacea for poverty eradication, as well as engaging teachers on gender sensitive issues.
Exchange Leadership Initiative is concerned with the search and recognition of leadership in the field of Early Care Education which its recipients are selected based on professional experience (over 45years), who have proven themselves as able leaders in their organizations.
Master leaders include organization managers, advocates, trainers, writers, researchers, counselors, policy makers and anyone who has an impactful career tragetory serving young children, families and early childhood professionals.
